Juicy, Crispy, Local. Meet your new favorite: the Smash Chicken Burger, crafted with fresh, local ingredients from Boise Co-op. Simple to make, impossible to resist.
Ingredients:
Chicken Patty
1 lb ground chicken
1 egg
¼ cup breadcrumbs
⅓ cup red bell pepper, finely diced
2 tablespoons green onion, diced
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons Cajun
1 teaspoon sea salt or to taste
¼ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or minced
1 tablespoon avocado oil or oil of your choice, more if needed
Chicken Burger
4 slices of cheddar cheese
2 strips of bacon cooked and cut in half, making 4 pieces
2 toasted buns, we love using brioche buns
mayo
sriracha
red onion sliced
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine all the chicken patty ingredients and mix them well. Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
Preheat avocado oil in a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add the four chicken balls to the skillet and flatten them with a spatula. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip the patties to the other side.
Next, add cheese to the patties and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
While the patties are cooking, drizzle mayo and sriracha sauce on the buns and spread it evenly with a butter knife. Place two cheesy patties on the bottom half of each bun, followed by red onion and crispy bacon. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun. Enjoy!
