MEET THE CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS
up for re-election
Andrew Campbell
Board President
I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Boise Co-op Market's Board for nearly four years, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Since moving to Boise in 2012, the Co-op has been more than just a grocery store to me, it’s been a place where I feel connected to my community, where I know the people behind my food, and where I can trust that every product meets the highest standards for quality, ethics, and sustainability.
I believe deeply in the cooperative model. We’re owned by our Members, powered by our dedicated crew, and guided by the values we share: quality, integrity, sustainability, accessibility, and care. My goal moving forward is to continue being a voice for both our Members and our incredible staff, making sure the decisions we make reflect the heart of who we are. I’m running for re-election because I want to keep building on what we’ve accomplished together.
When I’m not working on Board business, you’ll find me skiing in the winter, shooting hoops, or spending time with my wife and daughter, usually over a meal we picked up right here at the Co-op. I would be honored to continue serving you.
Rob anderson
board vice President
When I moved to Boise and discovered the Co-op it was like finding a little piece of home; natural, local, and full of character. What started as a great place to find wonderful food soon became something more. My deep appreciation for the Co-op’s mission, people, and the community it serves inspired me to run for the Board of Directors, where I have now proudly served several terms, currently as Vice President.
During my time on the Board, we’ve excelled at providing healthy, natural food, expanded local vendor partnerships, improved pay and benefits for our dedicated staff, and deepened our commitment to community organizations. I bring my background as a litigation attorney to help the Board navigate legal and strategic issues, and my past Board experience gives me the historical perspective to ensure we stay true to our roots as we deal with current matters.
As the Co-op grows and evolves, I’m passionate about preserving what makes it so special, while helping guide our next chapter with integrity, heart, and bold vision. If I have the privilege of being re-elected, I look forward to continuing this meaningful work on behalf of our employees, vendors, and incredible customers.
P.S. When I’m not at the Co-op, you’ll likely find me mountain biking, telemark skiing, or backpacking in Idaho’s beautiful backcountry!
serena buchert
board secretary
With deep roots in Idaho and a heart for community, I’m honored to be running for re-election to the Boise Co-Op Board. Except for the four years I spent earning my degree at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), I’ve proudly called Idaho home my entire life.
For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Secretary on the Boise Co-Op Board. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the Co-Op’s mission and strengthened my commitment to supporting its growth and impact.
As a mother of three and an attorney, I bring a unique blend of compassion, critical thinking, and dedication to everything I do. My journey into motherhood has only deepened my commitment to nourishing my family with wholesome, organic, and sustainable foods and products—values that align perfectly with the Boise Co-Op’s mission.
The Co-Op has long been a cornerstone for our family, not just for the high-quality products we rely on, but for the way it uplifts local farmers, artisans, non-profits, and small businesses. My husband and I are small business owners ourselves here in the Treasure Valley, and I understand firsthand the importance of supporting local economies and fostering community resilience.
In my free time, I enjoy golfing, quilting, cooking, backpacking, and whitewater rafting—activities that keep my family and I grounded and connected to the natural beauty of our state.
I bring to the Board a strong sense of purpose, a passion for natural living, and a balance of creative and analytical skills. I’m committed to helping the Boise Co-Op thrive as a hub for health, sustainability, and community connection. I would be honored to continue serving and growing alongside this incredible organization.

MEET THE
NEW COMMUNITY NOMINEES
Carrie Bernard
Our family's move to Idaho in 2019, and then the Treasure Valley in 2023, was fueled by our appreciation for the state's thriving community of quality food producers and the strong support they receive. As someone passionate about holistic living and whole-food cooking, I immediately connected with the Co-op during our first visit to Boise; it has since become my trusted source for the area's best overall goods and services. With a professional background in administrative support for both small businesses and global corporations, and experience as Secretary on a private school's Board of Trustees, I bring a dedicated customer's perspective to the Co-op Board, eager to help further its success. In my personal time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, cooking, reading, and painting, and I'm excited to continue exploring Idaho's diverse beauty.

When you hear "Boise Co-op", what comes to your mind? Natural food, local wine, or organic meat? To me, it's home. Boise Co-op is not only a store where I source my ingredients for home-made food, but also a place where connections are created. Whether you are a community member, a store employee, or a local vendor, we are all brought closer to each other through Boise Co-op! As a believer in the power of community closeness, I would like to serve as a board member to ensure your voices will be heard and your needs will be met at this home. Let Boise Co-op be the home where friends always belong and love always resides.
Marina Volynets
As a long-time Co-op shopper and mom of two young kids, I’m deeply passionate about healthy food, cooking, and supporting Idaho farmers. I love visiting local farms and prioritizing my family’s health through nutrition, and the Boise Co-Op has been the perfect partner in that journey.
Our family has been fortunate to live in many places, but we’re grateful to finally call Boise our home. I’m a U.S. Air Force veteran and a current federal employee with a background in aviation procurement, federal acquisition, and public land management. These experiences have equipped me with practical skills that I would bring to the Board to support sustainable growth and strengthen community relations. In addition, I hold bachelor’s degrees in Russian language and experimental psychology from the University of South Carolina, a master’s degree from the University of Missouri, and I’m currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Change from Baylor University- Sic 'em, Bears!
If elected, I will advocate for making healthy, local food more accessible and affordable for everyone, for deepening relationships with Idaho producers, and for expanding programs that help families learn about nutrition and sustainable agriculture. I am also committed to supporting the Co-Op as a welcoming, inclusive space where people connect through food, learning, and shared values.
My family and I are proud to call Boise home, and I would be honored to serve on the Board and give back to a community that has given us so much.

There are a lot of reasons I love being a member of the Boise Co-op—the selection, the quality, and the people, just to name a few. I’m so impressed by the dedication and friendliness of the employees that it has inspired me to want to serve on the board. I think my professional skills and life experience can contribute in productive ways.
From an early age, I was drawn to problem solving in creative and efficient ways. At home, we were never without a puzzle or brain teaser. This led to a degree in engineering and a career focused on process improvement and performance measurement. I’ve worked in logistics, a grocery delivery start-up, technology, and career management. At work, I am comfortable with details and the big-picture perspective and draw insights from each to inform the other. This approach has been especially valuable when building budgets and developing strategies.
My husband and I both love living in Boise. Our daughters, son-in-law, and first grandchild also live in Boise, and our extended family lives throughout the Treasure Valley. We gather to celebrate birthdays and holidays over a shared meal with plenty of laughs and lots of love.
These days, in addition to caring for my grandson, I volunteer with a local organization to box surplus produce from local farmers and deliver the produce to our community. I enjoy woodworking, hiking in the foothills, and working on my green thumb in the yard and garden.
