School Lunch: Bread Pizza

 

Back-to-school lunch just got an A+! Our easy Bread Pizza recipe is made with sourdough bread, pizza sauce, melty cheese, and pepperoni—plus all the fixings for a fun, balanced lunchbox. Everything’s from the Boise Co-op, so you know it’s fresh and delicious. Quick to make, kid-approved, and perfect for busy mornings!

Ingredients:

  • 1 thick slice of sourdough bread

  • 1–2 tbsp pizza sauce (or marinara, or tomato paste with herbs)

  • 2–3 tbsp shredded mozzarella (or any melty cheese)

  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, or onions.

  • Pinch of Italian seasoning or oregano (optional)

Instructions:

Oven/Toaster Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350F.

  • Place the sourdough slice on a baking sheet.

  • Spread pizza sauce on the bread.

  • Add cheese and toppings.

  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Optional: Broil for 1 minute to brown the top.
