Kathy’s Pick: 2013 Holloran Pinot Noir La Chenaie Vineyard, $28.00

With May being Oregon wine month, I thought it would be fitting to select an Oregon wine for my staff pick. Holloran uses sustainable, biodynamic and organic practices in their farming, and the quality of their wines show it. This single vineyard wine has so much depth and character. Here are a couple of reviews:

“Lithe and expressive, this lighter style is layered with cherry, pomegranate, earth, wet stone and spice flavors playing against one another as they wend through the fine-textured finish.” 90 Points, Wine Spectator

“A gentle mix of red berry, red plum and cherry carries some of the lightly earthy tones of the AVA. Soft and accessible, there’s a hint of Dr. Pepper running through the flavors also. It’s drinking right about at its prime and should hold through the early 2020s.” 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast
