The Bichot domaine is probably the biggest Burgundy house not to have much recognition in the US. They want to change that, but rather than taking out splashy ads in Wine Spectator, Bichot is making their name known by offering several wines at very attractive prices. This Savigny is one. It's a beautifully aromatic bargain with dark berry aromas backed by earth and mild spice. Smooth and supple on the palate with creamy berry flavors, the balancing acidity comes through on the finish. A food friendly wine that sang when paired with Brie on toast points. Looking forward to having it with Beef Bourguignon this fall.
