The Meneres Family has been producing still and Port wines (along with olive oil and cork) in the Douro for five generations, starting in 1874, on the same land. They make these wines only from native Portuguese varieties and have been certified Organic since 1997. They also employ over 60 associate members, all of which are descendants of Clemente Meneres (the founder). The care that is taken in the vineyards is also apparent in the finished products. This particular wine is a summer-friendly red that is unoaked and low in alcohol (12 percent) and pairs wonderfully with a large range of cuisine. The wine is very fresh and lively with aromas of cherry and dust and flavors of basil and tangy fruits. This is a wine of finesse and elegance that should not be missed.
