2010 Gamble Sauvignon Blanc, $12.99

When this wine first came out, it floored me. Priced at $18.99 a bottle, it was a little above my comfort zone for  everyday, but it’s exceptional flavors made it a great choice for the occasional splurge. Well structured and impeccably balanced, I felt it would only get better with time. I was right. A couple of years in the bottle has done nothing to diminish the vibrancy of this wine. Bright gooseberry and lime aromas lead off. The supple white peach and ripe melon flavors play against racy, food friendly acidity, with a rich creaminess coming through on the finish. And now, at the sale price, it’s a definite no brainer.
