Join this workshop led by Cara Applestein and learn how to make your own non-dairy yogurt easily and economically, using a mix of soy milk and coconut milk. Cara will discuss the basics behind non-dairy yogurt making and demonstrate preparing a batch during the workshop. Appropriate for those with gluten allergies. Students will be given a live culture and jar to continue cultivating yogurt at home.
Cara Applestein is the head organizer for Treasure Valley Vegans and the author of the e-cookbook, "Seitan's Kitchen." She has taught vegan cooking classes for several years through the Co-op in Olympia, Washington and through Treasure Valley Vegans. Areas of expertise include cultured vegan goods (yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, sourdough) and low/no oil or refined sugar cooking and baking.
