Rated at 91+ points by The Wine Advocate the 2012 Fogdog Pinot Noir boasts dark cherry and
Freestone spice followed by fresh earth and hints of toasty oak. Bright, with balanced acidity andnice texture, this wine is filled with lush red raspberry, cherry compote and savory herbs leading to a pleasing long finish touched by wild mushroom and baking spices. Recieved a 90 point rating from Wine Enthusiast.
2012 Freestone Pinot Noir, Special Pricing $36.00, (reg. $44.00)
A bright bouquet of red cherries and summer berries, black pepper, cassis and sweet vanilla open this latest Pinot Noir offering from our Freestone Vineyards. An exceptionally fruit expressive wine with a core of black cherries and blackberries, lingering Freestone spice and notes of forest floor and tangerine peel. A creamy mouthfeel and silky texture paired with balanced tannins and acidity lead to a long, pleasing finish.
2012 Freestone Chardonnay, Special Pricing $36.00, (reg. $44.00)
The 2012 Chardonnay garnered an impressive 94 points from Wine Enthusiast, and 92 points fromThe Wine Advocate. It opens with stone fruit, fragrant white flower, crushed rock and lemon zest aromas. Nicely balanced with a creamy texture and lush mouthfeel, the Meyer lemon crème brûlée, apricot and nutty toasted brioche flavors culminate in a long, opulent finish marked by sweet fruit and citrus.
2013 Phelps Sauvignon Blanc, $35.00
This wine shows bright Mandarin orange blossom, lemon curd, citrus and honey aromas. Full, ripe flavors of Meyer lemon, pear, honeydew melon and vanilla cream fill the mouth with a streak of minerality through to the nicely balanced long citrus finish. The Wine Enthusiast gave it 91 points.
2012 Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon, $70.00
This is the fortieth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon release from Joseph Phelps Vineyards. It highlights beautiful aromatics of dark fruit, cigar box, dried herbs, graphite notes and pain grillé.Expressive Bing cherry, licorice, blueberry and blackberry layer this silky smooth wine of great depth and personality. Richly nuanced with supple tannins and a lingering velvety finish. Rated 91 to 93 points by “Vinous” the new on line venture of Antonio Galloni and Stephen Tanzer.
2011 Phelps Insignia, $215
The Wine Advocate rated the 2011 Insignia at 90 to 93 points. It is layered with aromatics of dark fruit, cardamom, tobacco, Herbs de Provence and graphite on the nose. Fresh and lively this elegant wine boasts bright red cherry, blackberry and espresso throughout the palate with supple tannins.
