Join us for an evening of sausage and beer with Wayne Elias and Brian Golden. This class will include a segment on principles of pairing beer with sweet/spicy/savory food, a sausage making demo and a beer brat recipe for you to try at home.
Wayne, aka, "The Deli Meat Guy" has 20+ years of experience in food service operations, including working under James Beard Award winning chefs in Portland and Seattle. It was in Portland, Oregon working in the restaurant of renowned chef Vitaly Paley, that Wayne developed a passion for meat curing and Salumi. Since then, Wayne has continued to develop his skills working in various restaurants in Missoula, Montana and more recently here in Boise, with an emphasis in meat production and fabrication. He joined the Co-op approximately one year ago and currently resides in Southeast Boise.
Brian is the Director of Education and On-Premise Beer Manager for Hayden Beverage. He has received the highly regarded Certified Cicerone, BJCP Certified Beer Judge and MBAA Beer Steward accreditations, and has taught numerous classes in both beer and wine for groups throughout the state. He believes there is an occasion for every beer, and that any time is a good time to start learning.
