Wine Class: Celebrate With Champagne!

When it comes to celebrations, nothing makes the occasion as special as the real deal—Champagne—perhaps the world’s most famous wine.

Join Divit Cardoza as he shares his deep knowledge of this historic region. Champagne, the wine, is named after the region where it is grown, fermented and bottled: Champagne, France. Nestled in the country’s northeastern corner, near Paris, the only labels that are legally allowed to bare the name “Champagne” are bottled within 100 miles of this region (according to European Law). In addition to location, Champagne also receives its distinguished name because of the grapes used to produce it. Grown in a mild climate with chalky and mineral rich soil, the flavor of these grapes is truly unique.

This tasting will include appetizers and desserts from the Co-op Kitchen.

This is one of our most popular tastings and sells out quickly, make your reservations early!

Demo: Oma & Popie's Wing Dressin' @ The Village Store

All our wing sauce/marinades start off with Guajillo chilies pronounced “wha hee oh", the flavor profile is slightly fruity with a sweet heat, tannic with hints of pine, tart berries and light smoky undertones we then add chunks of garlic, locally grown onions, a blend of fresh Golden Valley apple cider vinegar from Fruitland ID and white vinegar, pure cane brown sugar and lots of flavorful spices. You can see and taste the difference!  Use as a marinade for fish, shrimp, steak, pork, chicken, ribs, grilled veggies, pizza sauces, smoking mop, dipping sauces, basting, glazing or the perfect vinaigrette topping on your favorite salad, yes you heard that right. Oh, did we forget to tell you it’s a “wing sauce” too.

We have created five wonderful marinades/sauces that will delight your taste buds: Drunk Uncle (Brown Sugar Kentucky Bourbon); Wingin' It: (Sweet & Spicy); Ja Makin’ Me Crazy (Jamaican Jerk); Bayou Venom (Smoky Cajun) and Hawt Mess: (Peppery Sweet Burn).

We make every effort to source REAL ingredients as close to home as possible.  There are no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no unpronounceable chemical preservatives, no gluten, no GMO's, no dairy, no nuts, vegan-friendly and absolutely no high fructose corn syrup!

We believe our sauces show our zest for life and shared adventures. We hope you will give us chance, you won't be disappointed!

The idea behind Better Man Beard is that all beards can be better for both the person that has the beard and their significant other. Some guys don't necessarily care how soft or what their beard smells like, but I am sure most significant others do. This basic concept has led to the creation of a beard balm that will help any man grow a better beard while making it softer and smell better for that special someone that wants to snuggle up close to it.

Cookin' With Kids: Healthy After-School Snacks

School is in session, and the kids are HUNGRY!  Instead of handing them crackers or a sugary granola bar, give them something homemade that’s yummy and nutrient-dense.  We’ll make No-Bake Grain-Free Energy Bites (with nuts) and Mexican Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding.  Both recipes are grain-free and dairy-free. This will be a hands-on class where the kids will be doing the cooking, guided in small groups by our instructor, Kendy Radasky.

Adults are free with paid kid’s registration.  Each child requires a purchased ticket.

Kendy's classes all include a focus on how to cook and eat well with kids who have food sensitivities.  Most recipes are gluten-free and dairy-free, and some are also egg-free, nut-free, and/or grain-free.  Ongoing, monthly series at the Co-op.
