Our weekend wine tastings for October will feature California, a state that accounts for 85% of the wine produced in the United States. If you’re like most of us of a certain age, you cut your teeth on California wine. It was readily available, and you could always find decent juice at an affordable price. But, if you are like many, as your tastes and interests evolved, and as wines, both more local and from around the world found their way to the Valley, you moved on. Over the past few decades, there has been an explosion of new California wineries to the point where there is something for everyone. Join us for a series of tastings that may make you change the way you think about California wine.
To kick things off, our friends from Idaho Wine Merchant will be pouring from their portfolio for First Friday at the tasting counter in the Main Store. We'll have the wines available for sampling again on Saturday in the Wine Shop. All the wines will be on sale for 15% off both days. Here's the line-up:
- Cannonball Chardonnay, Sonoma County
- Trione Pinot Noir, Russian River
- Elizabeth Rose Chockablock Red, Napa Valley
- Ancient Peaks Zinfandel, Paso Robles
- Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
